Why are you Pro-Choice? I'd like to know...

What if I told you that in the words of Malcolm X, "I say and I say it again, you've been had. You've been took. You've been hoodwinked, bamboozled, led astray, run amok." What would you say then? Would you change your mind? Hear what Bernard Nathanson, MD last surviving founding member of NARAL has to say about his part in your bamboozling: “We persuaded the media that the cause of permissive abortion was a liberal, enlightened, sophisticated one. Knowing that if a true poll were taken, we would be soundly defeated, we simply fabricated the results of fictional polls. We announced to the media that we had taken polls and that 60 percent of Americans were in favor of permissive abortion. This is the tactic of the self-fulfilling lie. Few people care to be in the minority. We aroused enough sympathy to sell our program of permissive abortion by fabricating the number of illegal abortions done annually in the U.S. The actual figure was approaching 100,000, but the f

I see you brother...

A poem that I wrote last night on the way home from school. I see you brother... Standing on the platform spittin' lyrics at nobody, as your head nods in time and agreement. I see you brother... Violence, hatred, profanity, misogyny, and death flow from your lips like rain... a reflection of what's on your mind. I see you brother... Lookin' at the sister to your left like so much meat as you place her in the porno you're filming in your mind.. Your smile gives you away. Damn. I see you brother... Do YOU see you?

Examining the tithe

Blessings to you dear reader. Thank you for taking the time to read the following. It is my prayer that it will edify, and bring clarity, and provoke thought and a closer walk with our Savior. Please note that wherever scripture is quoted, it is taken from the American Standard Version (ASV) In His service, Pastor.ctj One of the most heavily debated doctrines of the modern church is the doctrine of the tithe. Many Christians generally accept that the law of tithing, as other Jewish laws, was abolished upon Jesus' crucifixion, when he fulfilled the Old Testament law. For the most part, Christians do not follow Jewish community laws such as the extensive dietary restrictions in the Old Testament, for example, and tithing was part of that group of laws. Others believe that because Jesus spoke about tithing, he was instructing his followers to continue the practice, and for many, not only is the tithe still an active doctrine, it is proof of one’s commitment to God. Leroy T is a HOT mess... and a pimp to boot.

So, I actually watched Leroy Thompson for about 8 minutes the other night (Link Below). I took notes as best I could between gags and bouts of nausea and disgust.. He was talking about and to ‘Harvest Millionaires’. The sermon (if you can call it that) was... Get this... "Living the Financially Advanced Life in Godly Finances" Pt. 2 Would someone tell me what that mess even MEANS????? Among other things He said that: 1) Though we all think that John 10:10 is for the future, it is for today. John 10:10 says: The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (How this was revelatory, I know not) 2) There is a place that you can put money to protect it now. This is of course the tithe, and seed offerings 3) You are a millionaire already, because you can add up all of your tithes and offerings, and call for it, in fact you can call down a 10 fold return (at which of course there was ‘shouting’ a

I cannot congratulate Thomas Weeks on his new marriage

So, as of 10/17/09 'Bishop' Weeks is married again... He is, as a result, our 'WOLF of the month' for October. This is marriage number 3. He's even got a 'show' with his new wife called ' You can begin again '. Last year, after his disgusting performance on the Wendy Williams filth fest, I posted this entry . My opinion of him has only worsened since then. Let me, for all of you who are pulling out the oft misquoted 'judge not', and 'touch not', refer you to the WORD of GOD Concerning my actions: 2 Timothy 4:1-5 In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great n

The steady march towards the Global criminalization of Christianity and the Gospel... Pres. Obama signs Hate Crimes Bill Hate Crimes, and the encroaching criminalization of Christianity by Pastor CT Jermin Please read the following, noting that: a) I am by no means endorsing any of the people or opinions quoted here other than my own, and b) The following posts contains themes and information that is of an adult nature In the wake of the Pauline Howe situation in England, we have this, family. Today, President Obama signed into law the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crime Prevention Act , legislation that strengthens existing U.S. laws by extending federal hate crime protection in cases where the victim was targeted because of their sexual orientation, gender, disability, or gender identity. In other words: The measure extends the current definition of federal hate crimes -- which covers attacks motivated by race, color, religion or national origin -- to include those based

The formula for Spiritual Character Assassination

This is one from the archives... Originally posted on my old blog Sunday, April 09, 2006 The formula for Spiritual Character Assassination And congregational control One of the most interesting parts of 'Church' to me is watching preachers. I've seen the good the bad and the ugly, I've seen the fervent and the fraudulent the Shepherd and the Wolf. From my travels, I have compiled this list. The purpose of it is to help the arrogant, immature wannabe 'pastor' maintain control of the flock. These are all things that I've either seen or experienced so I know they work. Your short term success is guaranteed! So to all you would-be so-called shepherds out there: If you ever find yourself using ANYTHING from the list, CHECK YOURSELF quick, and REPENT!!! Here we go: In leadership, control is key. The Sheep must be led, and it is the responsibility of the shepherd to show them the error of their ways, while lovingly corrected. The rod corrects, while the staff guid

" Why we must know God 2: It’s all relative"

Repairer's Fellowship Bible Church: Meeting Notes 3.29.09 Why we must know God 2: It’s all relative (or is it) “Discernment is not a matter of simply telling the difference between right and wrong; rather, it is telling the difference between right and almost right.” – Charles Spurgeon Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me. - Job 38:3 The Inconvenient Truth: It is not enough for us to look at only at the manifestation/results, it is necessary for us to look at the intention/motivation Some Examples: 1) Angel of light – 2 Cor 11:13-15 2) Test every spirit – 1 John 4:1-4 3) 1 Peter 1:5b - 11 - Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. 6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adver

Pragmatic Utilitarianism is an enemy of the cross

Pragmatic Utilitarianism defined: Utilitarianism says, "do that which provides the greatest good for the greatest number." Pragmatism says, "Whatever works is what is good." According to Alex Strekal: "The arguments given by people to justify unethical acts are usually utilitarian, which is to say that a given act is defended on the grounds that it is beneficial to someone. ...Just because something may be beneficial to some people does not necessarily mean that it is justified... Furthermore, and this is very important to stress, happiness is not the criteria by which we measure right and wrong. The happiness of a murderer may come from murdering, but surely we do not condone murder simply because it brings happiness to the murderer." You may read the entire article here This is usually explained as: The ends justifies the means... But does it really? Here is a good example, The Praise band of New Spring church sings AC/DC’s ‘classic’ song, ‘Highway to He

Would you stay at this church?

Would you stay in a church that preached the following? 12/2005 In a sermon, Pastor xxx declares that the miracle of the 2 fish and 5 loaves was not that the same fish and loaves fed thousands, unless as he puts it, it was two whales, and loaves made from an entire field of wheat. He states that the miracle was that by having the people sit in groups, Jesus created community, and the communities shared what they had. THAT he says, was the miracle. I do not agree. 6/24/07 Pastor xxx 's, sermon implies the approval/acceptance/condoning of homosexuality. Not only the person, but the lifestyle, and uses Acts 11 to couch the debate over homosexuality as equal to the circumcision debate xxx says that the early church members would be surprised at the church’s ‘gentile’ predominance, implying that in years to come homosexuality will be so much a part of the normal life of the church that we who are in opposition now will be surprised. Sermon is preached on the same day as the gay parade (

Leaving all for the sake of Christ

My Worldview... Just so you know.

So, in a nutshell.... I am a Christian theist , a Soft restrictivist: This means that I believe in a God, YWHW , and that I follow the traditional Christian belief system. I believe that Yahshuah was and is the Christ , and that no one can gain either access to God, or eternal life without Him. Period. I believe that no one can be saved outside of the message of the Gospel being received (Romans 10) . Infants and the mentally unable are excluded from the principle because of their inherent inability to understand and receive the Gospel. (I believe that Nehemiah 8 supports this view) . I believe that it is only by grace, and through faith that one receives the gift of salvation. Not the other way around. I believe in the purposed narrowing of our lives, which happens through spiritual, through external, and through deliberate internal means to conform to a Biblical standard of behavior, belief and associated action. I believe in the house, or simple church. I believe that we should se

The Power of Music

So this gave me chills. In 1995, I had the honor of teaching/directing the CLC singers as we prepared to sing on Alvin Slaughter's 'God Can' CD . It was a wonderful experience. Tonight, I watched a clip of an Italian choir sing one of the songs off of that CD, and I know by the arrangement, that they heard the version from the CD that we are on. It is a blessing, because in my travels, most of what I see embraced of African American music and culture is negative. I have been thrown gang signs on the streets of Moscow, watched awful Russian 'gangsta rap' videos, and in Germany stared with disgust at P-Diddy and others leering at me from subway posters... Yet here is an all white choir, praising God using an historically 'African American' art form, while not speaking the language. Music is Powerful, and Praise can happen in any and every language. This is particularly meaningful for me, because one of my songs, 'Overwhelmed' has made its way to a thi

Not that it really matters anymore, but... (yeah right)

I posted these videos months ago, and believe that in the light of this mess, Health Care Bill Directs HHS Secretary to Develop 'Standards for Measuring Gender'-As Opposed to 'Male' and 'Female' (read it here) ... they warrant posting again... From the Christian Anti-Defamation Commission : http://www.christianadc.org/resources Seven reasons why Barack Obama is not a Christian ... There is a spiritual emergency in America. Barack Obama is in the process of trying to recreate the Christian faith in his own, very liberal and unorthodox image. Built on a foundation of radical Black Liberation Theology, theological liberalism and post-modernism, Obama is undermining historic, biblical Christianity while claiming his is a Christian. In the process, he is defaming the Christian faith. By declaring he is a Christian, yet denying Christianity's most essential truths and traditional morality, Obama is associating Christ with some of the most wicked practices imaginab

When Genesis 1:27 is not enough...

The Bible: Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. The Senate HELP Committee: The Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee’s health care legislation will give the Health and Human Services secretary the authority to develop “standards of measuring gender” -- as opposed to using the traditional "male" and "female" categories -- in a database of all who apply or participate in government-run or government-supported health care plans. No, Mr. President II

"The average citizen in a democracy is like a deaf spectator sitting in the back row of a sporting event: He does not know what is happening, why it is happening, what ought to happen; he lives in a world that he cannot see, does not understand, and is unable to direct." - Walter Lippmann, pundit/public philosopher - 1924 Everyone knows by now, that I did not support this candidate during his historic campaign. I do not support him during his historic Presidency either. This is because my allegiance is first to the Cross of Christ, before my ethnicity, before my political identification, and all the rest of the myriad demographic identifiers we manufacture as a society. One of the problems that Pres. Obama faces now is trying to make good on the various and sundry, and sometimes opposing campaign promises that he made is that he made promises to the gay community and now the bill is come due. While we're on the subject of homosexuality... In light of the whole 'Gay p

Having Sex with Jesus...

Bad fruit from a corrupted vine Our latest example of faulty (non-existent) exegesis comes from Creflo Dollar, who slaughters the scripture to make a poor point... If you, a Christian, have sex with another believer, you're having sex with Jesus... While there are many issues with this particular clip, I would like to direct you to another outgrowth on this same infected vine: The Rev. Dr. Robert E. Goss, senior pastor of the Metropolitan Community Church (MCC)’s “Church of the Valley” in North Hollywood, CA. In his 2002 book, Queering Christ, the pastor proudly recounts how he masturbates with Christ, imagining himself having homosexual sex with Christ. ”My technique of meditative prayer was to envision Christ with me and experience him as a lover. Scott Haleman, Betty Dodson, and Joe Kramer argue that masturbation can be spiritual and can become a form of transcendental meditation. Masturbation can harness fantasies and sexual energy. When prolonged, it can stimulate and ex

Straining at a gnat? The answer...

** Update. As of 7/30 the original video was removed from Youtube, so the one below is a substitution, which does not have the same arrangement (it began with 'On Christ the solid Rock I stand')** A worship leader who I know, at a church that I respect, posted a video the other day. It is a video of a Lakewood Church service, and the song is called ‘I’m still standing ‘ by Israel Houghton & Cindy Cruse Ratcliff . The lyrics are below as well. I asked a question about the song, and got varying responses, all of which were thoughtful, and I am glad that those who took the time did... Specifically, I said this: Take a few minutes, please look at the video, read the words below, and tell me if you see anything amiss. Please note that this is NOT about performance, musicianship etc. Here is the video : Here is the lyric : Opening: My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus’ name On Christ t
