Our dear sister Linda, departed this life January 20, 2011. She is missed, but we trust God. Below is a video montage, set to Linda singing. After that her Eulogy, as delivered by her Pastor, Rev. Cyril T. Jermin... God's Grace: The Root and the Proof of Love... Psalm 95:3-7 3 For the LORD is the great God, And the great King above all gods. 4 In His hand are the deep places of the earth; The heights of the hills are His also. 5 The sea is His, for He made it; And His hands formed the dry land. 6 Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the LORD our Maker. 7 For He is our God, And we are the people of His pasture, And the sheep of His hand. 1 John 3:1-3 1 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be li...

The Pimp Chronicles, Episode Three Blogger's note: I recently came across the journal of 'The Right Reverend Riley R. Robinson' Prophet, Pastor and Presiding Prelate of the T rue A nointing C hurch, Kentucky (TAC KY) Jan 10 2011 The Holee Ghose moved TO-DAY, I’ll tell you! My topic was ‘Buryin’ Bones’ I preached from 1 Sam 31: 11-13 11 Now when the inhabitants of Jabesh Gilead heard what the Philistines had done to Saul, 12 all the valiant men arose and traveled all night, and took the body of Saul and the bodies of his sons from the wall of Beth Shan; and they came to Jabesh and burned them there. 13 Then they took their bones and buried them under the tamarisk tree at Jabesh, and fasted seven days. I told them that we got to bury the bones of the old man, and take up the new one. I told them that, just like Saul, their disobedience to God is keeping them back. In fact, it’s killing them. I said... “What’s the remedy? What the cure? Obedience! What does God want? Obedienc...

Questions and answers...

A recent song lyric... I What is truth? Where does it start and where does it end, my friend? What is life to you? Is it who you are or just the things you do? What is wisdom? Does it come from inside or up above? Most importantly, how do you define love? B1 Is love a person, is love a thing? Will we ever really understand, until we stand before the King. Is it a feeling, is it of God, and why is it so hard? To love? Is truth a concrete thing, is love a feeling? Does it change with circumstances, like leaves in the wind? Why do we struggle, why should we care? How much pain should we have to bear, to Love? II Father Yahweh, why do I fit into your plan? What do I mean to you? Wretched sinful man that I am? Lord Yahshuah, you could have stayed on your throne above. But what you did for me, truly you define Love. B2 So love’s a person, and love’s a thing? And this I’ll never really understand, until I stand before you my King. More than a feeling, for Love is Yah! The Great I AM, the Almi...

The Clubdate Singer Speaks! Chapter 8: The Conflict

Disclaimer: The following story is an actual event, as all of the vignettes in the 'Clubdate Singer Speaks' series are. For 8 years, I was a member of one of the top Orchestras in the nation. Though it was an enjoyable time, it was also at times, quite painful. I took to writing initially to assuage my distress, and this is one of those times when the pen (or keyboard) proved to be a healing tool. I have considered publishing this series, and would appreciate your thoughts... "The Conflict” - Early 2004 (Please note the date of this writing. Much has changed since, but it reflects the state of mind I was in at that time) Though this series of essays is autobiographical, I and my situation are by no means unique... Saturday night : I stand behind the microphone, in the crowded, dimly lit club, singing songs that make your body move. I am the lead singer. Sunday Morning : I stand behind the microphone in the crowded, brightly lit church, singing songs tha...

I was around the wall, in the shadows by the elevator. I had just come through the freight entrance into the lobby, and she was coming into the lobby through the main entrance. From the sound, I knew what I would see before I laid eyes on her. I was not far off. Hard walking, unaccustomed to high-heeled shoes, fairly unattractive bottle blond in a black dress that should have stayed on...
