A Facebook friend wondered aloud how Pope Francis got to be Pope in light of comments like this: "We have created New idols. worship of the ancient golden calf has returned in a new and ruthless guise in the idolatry of money and the dictatorship of an impersonal economy lacking a truly human purpose. The worldwide crisis affecting finance and the economy lays bare their imbalances and, above all, their lack of real concern for human beings."   - Pope Francis I responded thus: "He became Pope the same way that Barack Obama became President. He's ethnically 'new', with clever words and expressed sentiments, that sound like a breath of fresh air, but underneath the same old gears are operating the same old machine. Lisa C. Pemberton Obituary O n Wednesday November 23 rd , 2011 at 2:27 pm, at Brooklyn Hospital in Brooklyn, New York,  Lisa Chri stine Pemberton entered into the presence of the Lord. Lisa was born August 5 th , 1964 in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Reuben and Bertie, the third of their four children, and only daughter.   She graduated from South Shore High School in 1981, and went on to John Jay College of Criminal Justice, graduating in 1985. Lisa joined the Kings County (Brooklyn) District Attorney’s Office in 1986, rising to a supervisory paralegal position, and was employed there until her passing. Lisa loved to laugh and make jokes, and it was always a joyous occasion when she was around. She was also a gifted singer with a beautiful voice. She sang throughout her life, in various choirs and ensembles, often as a soloist.
